Simply boil the kettle and add hot water to the powder – simple as that! Made by custard legends Birds, Birds Instant Custard is great on desserts such as apple pie, Christmas pudding and (of course) rhubarb crumble.
INGREDIENTS:
Sugar, Whey Powder (Milk), Modified Maize Starch, Palm Oil, Milk Proteins, Anti-Caking Agent (Silicon Dioxide), Flavorings, Color (Annatto). Contains Milk, May Contain Soya, May Contain Wheat.
DIRECTIONS:
A sachet makes 3 portions. How to Make Delicious Bird's Custard: 1. Empty the sachet into a large measuring jug. 2. Pour on boiling water up 3/4 pint (425 ml) level. Water must be boiling hot for custard to thicken. 3. Whisk briskly (or stir well with a fork) until smooth and creamy ensuring all the powder at the bottom is mixed in. Handy Hints: If you prefer your custard a little thinner simply top up with boiling water; for best results leave to stand for 1 minute before serving; if the custard does not thicken, place in a saucepan and heat to boiling whilst stirring.
Store in a cool, dry place. Once made up, store in a refrigerator and treat as fresh food.
