Description

ASIAN HOME GOURMET MEE GORENG SPICE PASTE

Mie Goreng is a dish that originates from Indonesia and made with wheat noodles. The wonderful thing about this recipe, unlike many other dishes in Indonesian cuisine, you can tailor it to suit your tastes by adding the ingredients of your choice such as meat or seafood.

Packed with Indonesian staple sambal chili paste, this instant sachet offers a handy serving of pungent flavor to mix into a mee goreng stir fry. Combining the best of East and Central Asian flavors, this paste builds layers of spice and savory into its juicy tomato base, adding shallots, soy sauce, chili and shrimp into a deep red mixture that sizzles with umami goodness. Traditionally served with egg and chewy noodles for a springy texture, simply cook this paste with a stir-fried selection of seafood, meat and vegetables and finish with more tomatoes for a refreshingly, fiery dish!

INGREDIENTS:

Tomato Paste, Shallot, Soybean Oil, Salt, Soy Sauce (Water, Sugar, Soybean, Salt, Wheat Flour), Tamarind, Garlic, Dried Shrimp, Sugar, Red Chili, Shrimp Paste (Shrimp, Salt).

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Heat oil in a frying pan on medium-high heat. Add seafood, meat and/or vegetables and stir fry for 2 minutes.
  2. Add choice of noodles and spice paste into the frying pan and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Push the contents to one side.
  3. Add 1-2 beaten eggs and cook them for 1 minute on the empty side of the pan. Break them up and stir them into the noodles before serving. Add optional tomato chunks and stir-fry for a further 1 minute.

Store in a cool dry place.
