TORO KALRABI STAPPE

Mashed kålrabi is a must for the Norwegian Christmas feast! Called swedes in the UK and rutabaga in the US, these root vegetables are delicious mashed with a pat of butter and a little cream. It's a somewhat sweet vegetable, and a wonderful accompaniment to roasted meats.  Rutabaga is traditional with Sausages, pork sausage patties, smoked and cured herring, ham, meat pies, lamb, smoked fish, etc.

INGREDIENTS:

Kohlrabi 45%, potato, rapeseed oil, salt, sugar, skim milk, yeast extract, emulsifier (monoglyceride), spices, stabilizer (dinatriumdifosfat), antioxidant (sodium diphosphate, ascorbyl palmitate, sodium disulphite), acid (ascorbic acid), coloring (beta-carotene).

DIRECTIONS:

Boil 1 2/3 cups water and 1 tablespoon butter. Remove the saucepan away from the stove and add 1/4 cup cold water. Stir in the bag contents and leave to swell for 1 minute. Stir before serving.
