CASTELEIJN STROOPWAFELS
Stroopwafels, also known as syrup waffles, are popular Dutch cookies that consist of two round butter wafers with a cinnamon flavored syrup in the middle. Place in the microwave for 10 seconds or enjoy them the traditional Dutch was by placing over a steaming cup of coffee until the center softens!
INGREDIENTS:
Wheat flour, syrups (glucose syrup, glucose-fructose syrup, invert sugar syrup), sugar, butter, vegetable fats (palm oil, rapeseed oil, water, barn egg, salt, caramel (sugar, water), sunflower lecithin, cinnamon, sodium carbonates, lemon, bourbon vanilla. Contains wheat (gluten), milk and egg. May contain traces of peanuts and tree nuts.
DIRECTIONS:
In the Netherlands stroopwafels are traditionally consumed with tea or coffee. It is a custom to place a cookie on top of the cup and let it steam for a few minutes so that the cookie is warmed and the syrupy layer has softened. Store in a cool dry place.
